For more information, visit online at PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES: 1. Performs vascular studies. * Carotids * Arterials * A/B indexes * Segmental pressures * Venous * Others as qualified 2. Performs all modalities of echocardiography, including assessment. * Echocardiography * Stress echocardiography * Pharmacological stress echocardiography * Transesophageal echocardiograms * Others as qualified. 3. Performs other non-invasive cardiac testing as requested. * EKG * Holter/Event monitor application * Stress testing 4. Works cooperatively with other team members, taking an equal share of on-call hours and an equal share of outreach clinics. Staff member is responsible for participating in departmental problem solving **Qualifications** QUALIFICATIONS: Experience: Refer to education and licensure section. Education/Licensure: No current registry is required upon hire for those applicants who have completed a 2 year allied health program or are registry eligible. If applicant meets this criteria, he/she must obtain a ARDMS registries, in RVT or RDCS, within 12 months of hire. Once employee receives one of the registries, they will move to job code 4570. If applicant has obtained one registry, please refer to job description 4570 for requirements. BLS or BLS instructor certification is required upon hire. Acceptable credentialing bodies and certifications include the following: American Red Cross: CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer, American Safety and Health Institute: CPR, PRO, must say “Professional Level-with AED”, and American Heart Association: Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers. Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: Knowledge of standard cardiac/peripheral vascular ultrasound views and equipment controls. Knowledge of cardiac anatomy and physiology. Knowledge of arterial and/or venous peripheral vascular systems. Knowledge of basic maintenance and upkeep of equipment. Ability to communicate with physicians, patients, staff, and supervisor in a professional manner. Knowledge of applicable laws, regulations, guidelines, and professional standards.
