Job Description:   **MEDICAL LAB TECHNICIAN II (Pediatric Diagnostic-Ringgold) Full-Time** **Description** **Job Summary:** Under direct supervision, conducts routine tests in clinical laboratories for use in treatment and diagnosis of diseases. **Essential Duties:** + Prepare specimens for microscope examination using standard techniques and equipment. + Perform testing and reports test results in urinalysis, hematology and chemistry. + Perform diagnostic testing on patient samples to aid physicians in the diagnosis and/or monitoring of various disease states. + May make qualitative determination of sugar in urine, make blood cell counts, prepare and mount specimens for microscope examination. + May make preliminary identification of common types of bacterial cultures for confirmation by providers per policy. + Prepare slides as necessary for microscopic analysis in hematology. + Analyze test results for accuracy, acceptability and critical limits. + Follow quality control policies and documents quality control activities. + Maintain instruments and equipment. + Resolve pending reports at end of shift. + Communicate any issues/problems to address. + Perform other duties as assigned. **Qualifications** Education + Associate degree in related field preferred. + Graduation from an accredited MLT program + Certification American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP) or the American Medical Technologist (AMT) certification may be required. **Experience** + 2 Years of Experience Required Additional Responsibilities: Demonstrates a commitment to service, hospital values and professionalism through appropriate conduct and demeanor at all times. + Adheres to and exhibits our core values: Reverence: Profound respect and awe for all of creation, the foundation that shapes spirituality, our relationships with others and our journey to God.
