Job Description:   **Multi Modality Technologist-Diagnostic Imaging-Springwoods (Days) Full Time** **Description** **TheWoodlands Hospital** A primary and secondary care hospital serving North Harris and Montgomery counties. Clinical services include cardiovascular services, diagnostic imaging, women’s services (digital mammography and bone density studies), neurosciences, pediatric care (Newborn and Level II nurseries) and surgery, pathology and pulmonary services, and sleep disorders. Clinical affiliations include The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center’s Radiation Treatment Center, and Texas Children’s Hospital. **PositionSummary:** Performs a variety of specialized technical tasks associated with the operation of MRI and other imaging modalities in an outpatient setting to assist the radiologist in the detection of anatomical abnormalities. The technologist is primarily responsible for daily operations of the outpatient MRI section, patient schedule, equipment maintenance, the report of equipment failures, and quality assessment (QA), with a secondary emphasis on performing Computed Tomography imaging studies. The technologist maintains a high standard of medical ethics at all times and is self-motivated to increase level of understanding and knowledge of the field, disease, and new procedures as they evolve. **PositionResponsibilities:** 1. Utilizes innovative customer service techniques to provide a positive patient care experience for the patient and their family. 2. Acts professionally in all dealings with internal and external customers to promote a working environment that focuses on the patient experience and not operational rivalries or roadblocks to care. 3. Knowledge of cross-sectional anatomy of the head, thorax, and abdomen, physiology and MRI terminology, practices and procedures 4. Ability to perform all tasks associated with MRI Tech job description. 5. Ability to perform all tasks associated with CT Tech job description. 6. Screen patients for MR safety prior to procedure performance. 7. Administer contrast media or as directed and per protocol. 8. Evaluates the imaging study for technical quality, collate processed images and sequence of exposure and label appropriately. 9. Actively participates with patient care exams, performing routine, urgent and emergent patient requests. 10. Reviews the physician orders to verify the types of diagnostic exam requested and that the indication for the procedure is consistent 11. Communicates effectively with patients and their families about the procedure to be performed in order to obtain information and to offer reassurance. 12. Establishes and maintains lines of communication with all other staff members and Radiologist to insure an effective and harmonious working environment 13. Completes image processing, PACs QA, including the documentation of logs, demographic and diagnostic information required for departmental, hospital and patient record documentation. 14. Completes all image post-processing. **Qualifications** **Education:** Associate’s Degree Required **Licensure/Certification:** Associate’s degree or equivalent. Registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists - ARRT (R)(MR) and Registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists – ARRT (R ) (CT); must maintain current certification by Texas Department of Health as Certified Medical Radiologic Technologist – MRT; CPR/BLS certification CPR/BLS certification **Minimum Experience:** None **Minimum Knowledge,Skills, and Abilities:** Good alpha/numerical dexterity and handwriting skills Interpersonal skills for communication with patients, visitors, physicians and other hospital personnel Must have good written and oral communication skills **Job** Allied Health **Primary Location** TEXAS-THE WOODLANDS-ST LUKE WOODLANDS **Daily Schedule** Full-time **Scheduled Hours per 2-week Pay Period** 80 **Weekends Required** Occasional **Req ID:** 2017-R0133337
