Job Description:   **PARAMEDIC (EMS) PRN - Variable Shifts (2510001290)** **Description** Job Summary: The EMT-P (Paramedic) is responsible for delivery of patient care under the guidelines of the Tennessee Department of Public Health – Emergency Medical Services (TDHPH-EMS) and the guidance of an assigned Medical Director. The EMT-P will deliver care in the Emergency Department under the supervision of the Physician or appropriate staff. Essential Duties: + The Paramedic must be able to perform a variety of tasks assisting patients in specified pre-approved procedures. + Must demonstrate technical, clerical and interpersonal skills. + Must have strong organizational skills to effectively handle a heavy workload and maintain efficiency in the work environment, often under stressful work conditions. + Maintaining a cool and calm demeanor, being flexible and adaptable to quick change in patient load. + Must have a thorough understanding of patient care, and ability to provide quality customer service, and maintain a good working knowledge of pre hospital procedures. **Qualifications** Education: + High school diploma or equivalent required. Experience: + 1 year experience preferred. License/Certification: + Currently licensed in Tennessee or eligible for licensure by endorsement (reciprocity from other states or National Registry). + ACLS required + American Heart Association (AHA) BLS certification required + PALS required + BTLS or PHTLS required + EVOC / CEVO or equivalent preferred + EMS Dept. specific job education within first 6 months of employment. + Current driver's license with excellent driving record.
