Job Description:   **Endoscopy Procedure Tech (Endoscopy) 7a-5p - Call Required (2525002078)** **Description** **JOB SUMMARY** The GI Technician is responsible for the care of equipment within the lab. Follows specific departmental and hospital guidelines for the cleaning and sterilization of endoscopes and accessories. The GI Technician assists the nursing staff in the delivery of safe patient care, assists the physician during procedures. Takes call as assigned to provide twenty-four hour, seven days a week coverage for the GI Lab. **Qualifications** MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Education: High school diploma or GED; Completion of a surgical technology course, CNA, or LPN preferred. SGNA GI Technical Specialist certification required within 6 months of hire. Experience: On-the-job training; previous experience of 6-12 months. Equipment/Skills: Flexible/Video endoscopes, physiologic monitors, computers, electro-cautery units, suction equipment, heater probe unit, STERIS system, beepers. Good telephone and communication skills and ability to adapt to changes in technology. BLS Certification. PRIMARY CUSTOMERS: Works closely with physicians, patients, and co-workers. Has frequent contact with other departments.
