Job Description:   **DENTAL HYGIENIST (SV INFIRMARY), CONWAY INTERFAITH CLINIC, FULL TIME, DAYS** **Description** **JOB SUMMARY:** The dental hygienist serves as a health care provider responsible for clinical and educational oral hygiene services that promote good dental health. The dentist and the dental hygienist work together to meet the oral health care needs of the patient. He/she is responsible for assisting the dentist in providing necessary dental treatments in a compassionate manner that is congruent with the mission of CHI St. Vincent CORE JOB FUNCTIONS : Responsibilities will include, but not be limited to: + perform scheduled cleaning of patient’s teeth (includes scaling and polishing as appropriate) + patient screening procedures; such as assessment of oral health conditions, review of the health history, oral cancer screening, head and neck inspection, dental charting and taking blood pressure and pulse + taking and developing dental radiographs (x-rays) + removing calculus and plaque (hard and soft deposits) from all surfaces of the teeth + applying preventive materials to the teeth (e.g., sealants and fluorides) + teaching patients appropriate oral hygiene strategies to maintain oral health;(e.g., tooth brushing, flossing and nutritional counseling) + counseling patients about good nutrition and its impact on oral health + making impressions of patients' teeth for study casts (models of teeth used by dentists to evaluate + patient treatment needs) + performing documentation and office management activities + Help patients feel comfortable before, during and after dental treatments + Enter appropriate documentation on record + Prepare and sterilize instruments and equipment + Review records for the next working day + Communicate with executive director for maintaining appropriate and adequate supplies **Qualifications** MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Education: Graduate of an approved school for dental hygiene License/Certification: Licensed as a Registered Dental Hygienist by the State of Arkansas Experience: Experience in a Community Health Care environment preferred but not required. **Job** Dentist **Primary Location** ARKANSAS-LITTLE ROCK-ST VINCENT INFIRMARY **Daily Schedule** DAYS **Scheduled Hours per 2-week Pay Period** 80 **Weekends Required** Occasional **Req ID:** 2017-R0129726
