Job Description:   **MONITOR TECH-HEALTH UNIT COORDINATOR (6 North; Telemetry) Full Time - 3p-11p (2510003820)** **Description** **JOB SUMMARY:** The Unit Secretary is responsible for performing clerical duties, maintaining supplies/equipment, and facilitating communication and workflow in the unit. When working as a Monitor Technician, he/she is responsible for the continuous observation and documentation of cardiac rhythms and identification of any changes. **Qualifications** **MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:** **Education:** + High school graduate or equivalent. + Successful completion of a unit secretary course preferred. + Knowledge of medical terminology preferred. + Basic EKG class preferred. **Experience:** + Knowledge of or experience in healthcare. + One year Unit Secretary experience preferred. + Computer/typing skills preferred.Telemetry experience preferred. **Licensure or Certification** : + Successfully completes computer class within sixty days or as scheduled. + Certified Unit Secretary program preferred, but not required. + Successful completion of basic EKG class during probationary period then annually thereafter. **Equipment/Skills** : + Use of computer, copier, fax, phone, printers, beepers, Nurse Call System and Bedtracking. + Effective organizational skills and written/verbal communication skills including pleasant phone manners. + Typical skills preferred.
