Job Description:   **Multi Modality Technologist, Saint Joseph East, Full-time, 1st Shift** **Description** **Position Summary:** **Operatediagnostic imaging equipment in 2 to 3 different modalities to obtain clinicaldiagnostic x-ray films for the diagnosis and treatment of patients.** **Provide direct care to patients of allages.** **Provide patient/care services based on identified needs/developmentallevel for all patient populations checked below; care/services may includeassessment of individual patient need; incorporation of age-specificcharacteristics in patient education, communication, and planning; provision ofindividualized care relevant to patient needs; and recognition, monitoring, andprovision of interventions as appropriate.** **x** **Infancy (0-12 mos.),** **x** **Toddler (13 mos. - 4 yrs.),** **x** **Child (5-9 yrs.), x** **Adolescent (10-17 yrs.), x** **Adult(18-65yrs), x** **Geriatric (65 yrs.)** **Qualifications** **Requirements:** **Graduate of anaccredited program in radiologic technology.** **Must hold Radiation Operator Certificate from the Kentucky RadiationOperators Program. Registered in good standing with the American Registry ofRadiologic Technologists for Radiography and at least one other specialtymodality or Registry eligible for a specialty modality.** **Specialty modality registry with the AmericanRegistry of Radiologic Technologists or the American Registry of DiagnosticMedical Sonographers is required within one year from date of hire.** **Two years’ experience in diagnostic imagingdepartment working in multiple areas preferred.** **Adequate conversational English is required in order that the individualbe able to take direction from management, understand how to complete jobtasks, communicate adequately with patients and co-workers as necessary, understandand follow safety guidelines, and understand the Associate Handbook and allhospital policies.** **Working Relationships:** **The MultiModality Technologist is responsible to the Radiology Manager and/or Supervisorand does not supervise any employees.** **Isin daily contact with physicians, nurses, patients, families, and otherprofessional employees. Has contact with others outside the hospital.** **Physical Requirements and Environmental Conditions:** **Must be able to lift 50 lbs. occasionallyand 10 lbs. frequently.** **Must be able tooccasionally push/pull up to 350 lbs. using a force of 50 lbs. and frequentlypush/pull using a force of up to 20 lbs.** **Must be able to carry up to 20 lbs. for a distance up to 150 feet.** **Must be able to stand and walk continuouslyand crouch, squat, and sit occasionally.** **Must be able to perform continuous trunk rotation, reaching, bending andbalancing.** **Must be able to performdifficult manipulative skills, and perform tasks which require hand-eyecoordination and arm-hand steadiness. Must be able to visually discriminate faraway and close objects and colors, and hear normal sounds.** **May be exposed to blood, body tissue orfluids, hazardous waste materials such as chemicals, radiation, bodily injuryand electrical hazards.
