Job Description:   **Sterile Processing Tech** **Description** Position Summary: Performs tasks related to the decontamination, sterilization, and distribution of patient care supplies and equipment. Cleans, processes, sterilizes, stores and dispenses supplies, instruments and equipment to meet the needs of thehospital and to maintain proper inventory levels. **Qualifications** Requirements: High school graduate (or equivalent). Qualifying individuals should have 6 to 12 months experience in medical supplies and/or surgical instruments minimum with one year's experience preferred. Certification as a Central Service Tech by a recognized certifying agency. Skills and grammer is essential for the required documentation of data by regulatory agencies such as OSHA, JCAHO and the State of Kentucky OIG. Must maintain good customer/employee relations as well as good verbal and communication skills. Must be able to work independently using judgment abilities and handle multiple assignments. Must be able to handle high stress and emergency situations with confidence. Adequate conversational English is required in order that the individual be able to take direction from management, understand how to complete job tasks, communicate adequately with patients and co-workers as necessary, understand and follow safety guidelines, and understand the employee handbook and all hospital policies.. **Job** Patient Care Support **Primary Location** KENTUCKY-BEREA-ST JOSEPH HOSP **Daily Schedule** 1 **Scheduled Hours per 2-week Pay Period** 80 **Weekends Required** None **Req ID:** 2017-R0127410
