Job Description:   **Cardiac Sonographer - CPT, Varied** **Description** Pay Scale: $30.43 - $40.59 **Shift:** Casual Part Time, Varied Job Summary: Under the direction of the Heart Center Supervisor, the Cardiac Sonographer is responsible for the performance of the echocardiographic/doppler examinations of the heart which are used for the diagnosis of cardiovascular disease. Additionally, the Cardiac Sonographer assists with stress tests, EKG’s and holter monitor application. Essential Duties: + Performs non-invasive tasks including two-dimensional and M-mode echocardiography with color flow Doppler (adult and pediatric), in a timely manner, providing high quality images for presentation to the Cardiologist for interpretation. + Performs pulsed and continuous wave echo Doppler + Takes accurate measurements and calculations of the echo/doppler recordings. + Performs stress echoes, including pharmacological studies. + Sets up and assists with transesophageal echocardiograms. + Performs digital archival and retrieval of studies. + Performs Bi-V optimization studies with pacemaker representative and Physician. + Injects echo contrast agents and acquires corresponding contrast images. + Completes all required paperwork in a timely and accurate manner. Assure all fields are complete including but + not limited to time out reporting in accordance with department and JCAHO safety standards. + Provides for patient safety and comfort during procedures and coordinates workflow to efficiently accomplish quality + patient care. **Qualifications** License/Certification: + Current licensure by the Oregon Board of Medical Imaging as a Sonographer required. + Must be registered by ARDMS or CCI within six (6) months of hire. + Must have BLS within 30 days of hire and ACLS within the one (1) year of hire. Experience: + Six (6) months of echocardiography experience is preferred. + Advanced computer skills required.
