Job Description:   **EKG Tech II-Diagnostic Imaging (Days) PRN** **Description** **TheWoodlands Hospital** A primary and secondary care hospital serving North Harris and Montgomery counties. Clinical services include cardiovascular services, diagnostic imaging, women’s services (digital mammography and bone density studies), neurosciences, pediatric care (Newborn and Level II nurseries) and surgery, pathology and pulmonary services, and sleep disorders. Clinical affiliations include The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center’s Radiation Treatment Center, and Texas Children’s Hospital. **Position Summary:** Performs EKG's; charges and edits EKG's after physician interpretation; Assists with EKG training; connects and disconnects holter and event monitors; Performs signal average EKG's; and Bio-Z testing. Performs tests on adolescents, adults, and elderly patients. **Position Responsibilities:** 1. Performs routine EKG'sand rhythm strips in all patient care areas 2. Responds to and PerformsSTAT EKG's and attends CODE BLUE situations 3. Observes and reportspotentially lethal arrhythmias to the charge nurse or physician 4. Performs specialelectrocardiography procedures, such as signal average EKG, and esophageal leadtracings 5. Completes preparation of12 lead EKG tracings for processing and physician interpretation 6. Edits EKG's interpretedby the cardiologist and Prepares for distribution to the patient's medicalrecord 7. Charges for testscompleted 8. Prepares connects anddisconnects holter and event monitoring equipment 9. Assists in orientationand training of staff to perform EKG's 10. Maintains equipment bydaily checking, stocking and cleaning 11. Investigates minorequipment malfunction and Implements corrective action, reports majormalfunction to Biomedical Engineering 12. Will participate in theQuality Enhancement Process 13. May be asked to perform other related duties **Qualifications** **Education and Licensure:** High School Diploma/GED Successfully completed a basic EKG course and passed the required examination CPR certified Advanced Care Life Support (ACLS) High quality tests performed as monitored through Quality Enhancement Program **Minimum Experience:** One (1) year related experience **Minimum Knowledge,Skills, and Abilities:** Minimum of 6 months in performing EKG's, monitoring EKG's, or holter monitoring scanning **Job** Radiology/Imaging **Primary Location** TEXAS-THE WOODLANDS-ST LUKE WOODLANDS **Daily Schedule** PRN **Scheduled Hours per 2-week Pay Period** 0 **Weekends Required** Occasional **Req ID:** 2017-R0117232
