For more information, visit online at CHIhealth.com._ Job Summary/Essential Duties: + Cleans, prepares and packages surgical instruments, implants and instrument trays according to departmental policy/procedure. + Processes instruments for immediate reuse for surgical procedures during working hours. + Inspects surgical instruments and equipment for proper function and reports any deviations for repair or replacement. + Maintains knowledge of specific surgical tray content and reassembles trays. + Reports missing equipment or instruments promptly. + Follows OSHA Standards related to universal precautions and hazardous communications at all times. + Operates equipment found in the Clean-Up Room. + Maintains instruments and equipment in accordance with manufacturer's recommendation. + Assists with the transfer of supplies between SPD/Central Supply and surgery. + Assists with the stocking of supplies in appropriate areas within surgery, including surgery case carts as directed. 1.

Hours:
+ On Call Tues, Wed, every other Friday 6pm-Midnight; rotate Sat-Sun call **Qualifications** QUALIFICATIONS: Experience/Education + Preferred: A minimum of two years experience in instrument processing or sterilization OR + completion of approved surgical tech program. + Preferred: High school diploma or its equivalentKnowledge/Skills/Abilities + Knowledge of surgical instrumentation and their associated care. + Knowledge of surgical supplies and equipment. + Knowledge of medical and surgical asepsis and infection control principles. + Verbal and non-verbal communication skills. + Manual dexterity skills. + Good interpersonal relationship skills. + Ability to work under stressful and changing conditions in a calm, productive and flexible manner. + Ability to stand for long periods of time. + Ability to lift and carry items that weight up to 50#. **Job** Materials Management/Supply Chain **Primary Location** NEBRASKA-OMAHA-CUMC-BERGAN MERCY **Daily Schedule** PRN **Scheduled Hours per 2-week Pay Period** 0 **Weekends Required** Occasional **Req ID:** 2017-R0117781
