Job Description:   **Sterile Processing Tech** **Description** The person serving in the position of Sterile Processing Technician is responsible for assuring the proper disinfection, sterilization and packaging of surgical equipment to assure the maintenance of a sterile environment during surgical procedures. The Sterile Processing Technician assists in the preparation, care and maintenance of sterile and non-sterile supplies and equipment in the operating room, facility and clinic. Assist with clean up of Operating Room between and after cases. Disassembles, cleans, assembles, sterilizes, and stores procedure trays, instruments, equipment and supplies according to prescribed procedures and aseptic technique under direct supervision. Works with clinic and hospital to complete requests to dispense equipment, supplies and maintain department inventory. Actively participates in the department’s performance improvement activities. Performs other job duties as assigned by supervisor. **Qualifications** 1. Education and Training (required and preferred): High School diploma or GED required. Sterile Processing Technician Certification preferred. Must demonstrate ability to comprehend medical terminology. 2. Experience (required and preferred): Previous experience as a surgical processing technician is preferred. Knowledge of sterile processing equipment such as washer-disinfector, ultrasonic cleaner, high pressure steam autoclaves, and heat sealers is preferred. **Job** Patient Care Support **Primary Location** MINNESOTA-LITTLE FALLS-ST GABRIEL'S HOSPITAL **Daily Schedule** 8 hour shifts **Scheduled Hours per 2-week Pay Period** 48 **Weekends Required** Occasional **Req ID:** 2017-R0114796
