Job Description:   **Sterile Processing Tech II, Surgery, Medical Center Jewish East, Days, Full Time** **Description** Demonstrates an understanding of policies, procedures and regulatory requirements and builds continued competency in order to work independently in the decontamination, sterilization, and sterile storage activities of the department. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, maintaining an adequate level of instruments necessary for the efficient functioning of customer departments, understanding the equipment and chemicals used in reprocessing reusable instruments and equipment and the ability to use knowledge to implement appropriate processes in a safe and timely manner to include handling and decontamination of soiled instrument, inspection, assembly, packaging and sterilization. Required to provide preceptor support to other employees and an educational program at least once annually to other team members. **Qualifications** **Education:** High school diploma or GED required. **Required Experience:** Minimum of 2 years experience as a sterile processing technician **Certification:** Required by a nationally recognized program for sterile processing technicians **Skills:** Manual dexterity required; Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills. Ability to lift 20-50 pounds repetitively. Must be able to work in fast pace environment.
