Job Description:   **Echo Technologist I - Echo/EKG - PRN** **Description** Vintage The Vintage Hospital is specifically designed to offer a compassionate healing environment while providing its unique brand of care to the Northwest Houston community. Operates ultrasound equipment and Performs a variety of technical diagnostic procedures which encompass the specialty area of Echocardiography. Must be able to perform 2D/Doppler echocardiograms, Pharmacological and TMT stress echocardiograms and assist with Transesophageal echocardiograms. **Qualifications** Minimum Job Qualifications Minimum Education: * Associate’s Degree OR one year certificate from a health related program in a related medical field, which include seminar course training in cardiac ultrasound required; * Registered by American Diagnostic Registry for Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) as RDCS OR: Registered by Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI) as RVS or RCS Minimum years in field previous to employment: * None required Position Responsibilities 1. Performs ultrasound diagnostic imaging on patients according to the specific departmental procedure protocols 2. Prepares equipment ensuring that equipment is operational, safe and functioning 3. Ensures that daily equipment and room maintenance is performed after each procedure 4. Completes all quality checks and Ensures that equipment logs are maintained 5. Completes all clinical supply inventory 6. Actively Participates with patient testing, performing routine, non-routine, urgent, and emergent patient requests 7. Communicates with Patient Transportation, Nursing Units, Physician Offices, and other diagnostic areas 8. Performs portable examinations at the bedside to ensure patient safety as well as provide immediate diagnostic testing when needed 9. Assists with patient scheduling when required 10. Ensures that patient orientation, preparation and teaching are provided 11. Provide specific diagnostic test information to the patient 12. Obtain patient history according to specific departmental procedural protocol 13. Complete processing diagnostic tapes, Worksheets, and completing supporting documentation of logs 14. Notify referring physician, cardiology fellow, Medical Director and/or pertinent Medical Staff with any diagnostic findings which warrant communication 15. Provide post-care and education to the patient 16. Complete patient visit by ensuring that patient has been discharged safely 17. Assist with departmental quality monitoring 18. Participate in new equipment evaluation May be required based on Facility assignment: 19.
